Spring is in the air!

Welcome to our March 2023 Creative Card-iology Team Blog Hop! We’re glad you've joined us to check out this month’s cardmaking inspiration featuring products from the Online Exclusives released this month. You can hop along with us by clicking on the links to my teammates’ blogs toward the bottom of this post. We always appreciate your feedback, so please let us know you've stopped by and leave a comment.

At the beginning of March, Stampin’ Up! released some products that you’ll only find online. Some products will be restocked, but others will only be available while supplies last. One of these products is the Hello Irresistible Suite Collection. From this collection, I’ve chosen to use the Hello Irresistible 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper and the Loose Frosted Dots. I also used a 2” circle punch that is currently available online.

The DSP is so beautiful with its soft color washes and botanical and floral designs. I paired this beautiful paper with the Friendly Gnomes stamp set to make a magical spring birthday card.

Here are the cutting measurements and steps I followed to make this card:

Petal Pink Card Base – 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”
Flirty Flamingo Layer 1 – 2 ¼” x 5 ½”
Hello Irresistible DSP Layer 2 – 2” x 5 ½”
Basic White Circles and Gnome Die Cut Layer – 4 ½” x 5 ¾”
Basic White Inside Layer – 4” x 5 ¼”
Flirty Flamingo ¼” Metallic Ribbon – one piece approximately 6 ½” long

1. From larger Basic White cardstock piece, punch two circles with the 2” circle punch and die cut a stitched circle using the second largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies collection leaving room to stamp the gnome image.

2. Stamp the gnome image in Memento Ink onto the remainder of the Basic White piece and die cut the gnome with the corresponding die from the Gnomes Dies collection.

3. Stamp sentiment in Memento ink at bottom of one of the 2” punched circles.

4. Stamp bird image in Memento ink at top left of the other 2” punched circle.

5. Stamp floral image in Memento ink at left of stitched circle die cut, at right edge of inside layer and in bottom corner of an envelope.

6. Stamp birthday sentiment on inside layer.

7. Color the gnome, bird and floral image with Stampin’ Blends – I used Soft Sea Foam, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Blends Combo packs to color my stamped images. I placed a piece of scrap cardstock inside my envelope underneath my stamped floral image before using the Blends so that the color did not run through to the back of the envelope.

8. Adhere DSP Layer 2 to Layer 1.

9. Adhere one end of the Flirty Flamingo ribbon to the top back of the matted layers, bring the other end down the front length of the layers, and adhere it to the bottom back of the matted layers.

10. Adhere matted layers to card front approximately ¼” from left side.

11. Adhere punched circles to card front with adhesive or glue dots, positioning them along the edge of the matted layers approximately ½” from top and bottom.

12. Place glue dots on back of stitched circle die cut and adhere to card front as shown.

13. Adhere Gnome image with Stampin’ Dimensionals to card front at right edge of stitched circle.

14. Adhere Loose Frosted Dots on card front as desired.

15.  Adhere inside layer to inside of card base.

I hope you enjoyed this project! I love how my card turned out, and will be sending this card along to one of my sisters, whose birthday is this weekend! Shhh, don’t tell her its coming!

The Loose Frosted Dots and Stylish Shapes dies are not currently orderable but are expected to be orderable again later in April and May!

The Greatest Journey

It’s the final month of Sale-a-bration for this year, so we are featuring Sale-a-bration inspiration in our blog hop this month. You can hop along with us by clicking on the links to my teammates’ blogs toward the bottom of this post. We always appreciate your feedback, so please let us know you've hopped with us by leaving a comment.

Sale-a-bration is ah-mazing because you get exclusive Stampin’ Up! products for free when you purchase, host, or join the Stampin’ Up! team! Some additional items have been added to the options you can choose for free with $50 or $100 purchase, and I am featuring one of those additional products in my blog post today – the Enjoy the Journey 12x12 Designer Series Paper.

This paper collection features beautiful mountain and scenic views as well as various patterns on the opposite sides. The Greatest Journey stamp set and dies bundle and coordinating trio of twine pack and the icon sticker pack round out the suite of products that accompany this DSP on page 58-59 of the current Mini Catalog.

The Enjoy the Journey DSP pairs beautifully with the Picturesque stamp set in the Mini Catalog and several other stamp sets in the Annual Catalog as well, giving you lots of options for great card making, scrapbooking and other paper projects. You’ll note from the cards pictured above that I used the Picturesque and Sending Support stamp sets and the Greatest Journey bundle to make 3 cards with a simple layout featuring a matted square with an embossed piece in the background. I also used the Double Oval punch for my sentiment on one of the cards.

If you’re already an experienced stamper, I’m sure you will have no problem finding products here for a $100 order that will enable you to get the Enjoy the Journey DSP and the Sending Support stamp set, but if you need some suggestions, just let me know and I’d be glad to help you place that order!

And if you don’t know about the fabulous Sale-a-bration join offer already, let me tell how you can get all of the products used to make the bicycle card pictured above when you join the Stampin’ Up! team of demonstrators this month. During the current Sale-a-bration period that ends February 28, you can choose $175 in product for just $99, with the option to add the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine in either the original white color or in Boho Blue for an additional $30 – that’s a total product value of $238 for only $129! That is a great deal! Just click join here, comment below or reach out to me through email at kimskeepsakecreations@gmail.com for more information!

The benefits of joining Stampin’ Up! go way beyond the monetary value of the product though. When you join our team, you’ll become part of a community of stampers who love to create and inspire each other and also part of a company of people whose goal is to encourage others and make a difference in our communities. I can’t wait for you to join us – it is one of the Greatest Journeys I’ve been on, and now is the best time to join!

CASEing the Sale-A-Bration Brochure

Welcome to the first Creative Card-iology Blog Hop of 2023 - we are so glad you've joined us!  You can hop along with us by clicking on the links to my teammates’ blogs toward the bottom of this post.  We always appreciate your feedback, so please let us know you've stopped by and leave a comment.

Our theme this month is anything Sale-a-bration.  I love Sale-a-bration so much – I mean who doesn’t love FREE stamping products!  I chose the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper (page 6-7 in the Sale-a-bration Brochure) for my project, which is a Free with $50 item and coordinates with the Dainty Delight Bundle in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog.  It works out perfectly to order the Dainty Delight Bundle for $54.50 USD and then choose the Dainty Flowers DSP as your free Sale-a-bration item – just saying!

I loved the card pictured at the left side of page 7 in the SAB brochure, and I cased (copied and selectively edited) the design for my project.

Here are the steps I followed to make this card:

Cutting Measurements:

Basic White Thick Cardstock – 6 1/4” x 6 1/2” (score and fold at 3 1/4”) and a small piece for stamped sentiment

Starry Sky Cardstock (or Starry Sky patterned paper from DSP) – 3” x 6”

Dainty Flowers DSP (Oval Frame and Floral Panel pattern) – Cut center panels 2 3/16” x 5 7/8”

Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon – approximately 7”-8”

I first cut the oval frames from either side of the center floral panels on the patterned paper and then trimmed one to the measurement listed above.
I fussy cut the other as pictured below - the Paper Snips scissors are the best!

I used the Twigs and Sprigs embossing folder to add texture to my Starry Sky layer, but you could skip the embossing and use the Starry Sky pattern from the Dainty Flowers DSP collection instead.  This layer was then adhered to my card front.

The full floral panel was then adhered to the left side of my embossed Starry Sky layer with the length of ribbon positioned at the bottom of this panel so that it would wrap underneath and around and tie a bow at the right side.  Before tying the bow though, I added glue dots to the back of my fussy cut floral piece and adhered it over the panel, offsetting it a bit.  Then I finished tying the bow.

I stamped my sentiment and cut it apart, brushing the edge of each piece with Starry Sky ink.

I finished off with a coordinating 6 ¾ security envelope.  I traced the flap of the envelope onto a piece of the DSP and trimmed it to fit and stamped a floral design from the Dainty Delight stamp set on the front of the envelope.  I stamped this design in Mossy Meadow ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends (Light Mossy Meadow, Light Balmy Blue, Light Flirty Flamino, Light Melon Mambo, Color Lifter).

I hope you enjoyed this project!  The new January to April 2023 Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure are available now with gorgeous spring stamp sets, tools and papers, and you can view these new products and more when you visit my online store here.  The specific products used for today’s blog project can be seen below.

Sale-A-Bration brings with it great hosting benefits and also a great join special - your choice of $175 in product for only $99 (which is $50 more than the usual join offer).  There is also the option to add the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine in either original white or the exclusive Boho Blue color for an additional $30 ($63 value).  I'd love to share more about this opportunity with you.  You can contact me at kimskeepsakecreations@gmail.com with any questions you might have or to set up a time to talk about it.
