Apple Harvest Card

Thanks for checking out our September Creative Card-iology Team Blog Hop!  This month we have created projects using “Perfect Partners” stamps and dies.  The Perfect Partners dies are 6 new die collections created to coordinate with 6 stamp sets found in the current 2022-2024 Annual and July-December 2022 catalogs.  The dies are only available for a limited time (through the end of September or while supplies last).  Bundling the stamp set and dies together will save you 10%!

My project features the Apple Harvest Bundle, and the stamp set is from the July-December 2022 catalog.  For me, stamping and creating is usually about memories and sharing those memories in some form, whether in a card, scrapbook layout, wall art, or some other kind of project.  What does the stamp set bring to mind and what can I create that shares that memory.

The Apple Harvest bundle brings fond memories of family apple picking outings.  My grandparents, parents and siblings would all gather together with ladders and baskets and get as many apples as we could.  Afterwards there would be apple pies, apple sauce, and sometimes caramel apples to enjoy.

My color choices for my card were Real Red, Basic Black and Basic White.  I first cut my card base from Basic Black, a 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” piece of Real Red, and a 3” x 4” piece of black and white gingham from the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper set.  Embossing the gingham piece with the Timeworn Type embossing folder added some great texture!

I stamped my apple image in Memento ink onto Basic White cardstock and die cut the stamped image and a label using dies from the Apple Blossom die collection.  The apple image was then colored using Real Red and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.  I also stamped my sentiment choice in Memento Ink on the label die cut.

With an Exacto knife, I made two slits about ¼” apart on each end of my sentiment label and threaded a 5 ½” piece of Black & White ¼” Gingham ribbon through the slits and underneath my label.  With all these pieces prepared, my card was now ready to put together.  Once my pieces were all adhered with Stampin’ Seal, glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals, a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for some sparkle.

For some envelope embellishment, I traced the flap of my envelope onto a piece of the Real Red Gingham pattern in the Gingham Cottage DSP collection, cut out the piece and adhered it to my envelope flap - quick coordination of card and envelope!

You can check out the Perfect Partners bundles at my online store, but you won't want to wait long to check them out!  There's only about a week left in this promotion running through September 30th or while supplies last.

Thanks for hopping with us today!  Don’t forget to check out my teammates’ blogs by clicking on the links below!  We always appreciate hearing your feedback, so feel free to leave a comment.
