Welcome to our May
Creative Card-iology Team Blog Hop! Our
projects are all about scrapbooking this month.
Since I brought a new
kitten, Noah, home this month, the Cheerful Basket Bundle was a perfect choice for
my scrapbook project. I decided to make
a one-page layout that I’ll frame and hang on my bedroom wall. It was challenging to sort through the dozens
of photos that have been taken and pick just a couple to use. Noah is definitely going to need a whole album of his
own at some point!
When I took Noah for his
first vet appointment, the technicians had fun taking photos for his
chart. They got the cutest picture of
him wearing a lemon hat and were kind enough to share it with me – isn’t he the
cutest! I also got a picture of him in a
frog hat made by my niece.
I used a 12 x 12 sheet
of Pool Party cardstock for my background and matted my photos and sentiment
layer with Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight cardstock. I stamped my images and sentiment from the
Cheerful Basket stamp set with Bermuda Bay ink, and die cut the shapes with the
coordinating Full Basket dies. The
sentiment was die cut using a die from the Seasonal Labels collection. Using the Slim Card Dies, I cut two border strips
from a Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper pattern.
I colored my kittens,
basket, butterflies and hearts using Stampin’ Blends. I also colored a couple of pieces of White ¼”
Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend to make a faux bow for my sentiment layer.
Using the Alphabest
stamp and punch bundle, I punched out white labels and stamped the letters for
Noah’s name in Bermuda Bay ink. And I
was finally ready to put my page together!
I used just about every
adhesive Stampin’ Up! has in the catalog to put my page together – multi-purpose
liquid glue to adhere my border strips to the page and the sentiment and hearts
basket topper to the baskets; Dimensionals and glue dots to adhere the baskets,
kittens and butterflies; and Tear & Tape, Stampin’ Seal and Seal+ for the
photos and mats. And I finished off my page by coloring some Classic Matte Dots with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend.
Our photos of special moments deserve to be preserved and celebrated and not just stored on a digital devise or in a box. A scrapbook project, whether it’s an album, a framed photo layout, or even a photo card, is a great way to share those photos!
