Today's post is part of the Creative Cardiology Team Monthly Blog Hop, where we are celebrating the early release of the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle. You'll find links to my fellow blog hoppers below, and we'd love to have you hop along with us by following the links and checking out our Curvy projects!
The Quite Curvy collection of products is available to customers now, even though the rest of the January - June Mini Catalog won't go live until January 4, 2021. I've been having tons of fun already with this product collection!
Since we will be celebrating Thanksgiving here in the United States when this post goes live, I decided to create a project using the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) along with the dies from the Quite Curvy product collection. I happened to come across a 4" x 5.25" piece of gold foil sheet with a punched out image in the inner part of the sheet and that sheet of paper was just crying out for the rest of it to be put to use! The Gilded Autumn DSP with its foil accents would go so well with that gold foil sheet.
There was enough of a border around the punched area to die cut a rectangle from the center using the Rectangle Stitched Dies to create a gold foil frame. I used the second largest rectangle from the collection to cut out that rectangle.
I decided to use Cajun Craze for my card base, and I cut a piece of cardstock to 8.5" x 5.5", and scored and folded that to 4.25" x 5.5".
I needed a layer measuring approximately 5" x 3.75" that would fit underneath my frame and decided to incorporate the Curvy theme in this area. I chose a gold accented Cajun Craze piece of DSP with a pumpkin design and cut two 1" x 3.75" strips. I cut a piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock measuring 3.75" x 3" and embossed it with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. These pieces were then adhered to my card front with the embossed piece in between the two DSP pieces. And then I layered my gold frame on top.
From the rectangle cut from the inside of my gold frame, I used the flourish curvy border die to create a curvy design border on each side of a strip about 2" wide. I then cut this piece in half and layered these on top of the embossed piece, lining up the straight edges with the edges of the pumpkin DSP.
My sentiment used another piece trimmed from the center rectangle. I stamped my "So glad to have you in my life" sentiment (from the Gather Together stamp set) onto a 1/2" strip of Whisper White using Cajun Craze ink, and punched the ends of both this Whisper White strip and the strip of gold foil sheet with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. I adhered these two strips together and adhered it to the center of my card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Another piece of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP has some foil accented leaves and acorns, and I punched several of these out using the Autumn Punch Pack to accent two corners of my gold frame and one end of my sentiment.
There are a lot of elements in this card that are speaking to my heart right now. I am truly grateful for those family members and friends in my life who encourage and inspire me, and they are like gold to me - so precious! Even though we may not be able to gather together and celebrate in the same way we have on past Thanksgiving holidays, we can still reach out and encourage each other - and one of the ways I love doing that is through creating and sending a card!
