Welcome to the October Creative Card-iology Team Monthly
Blog Hop! This month we were challenged
to create a scrapbook layout, journal or sampler project. And to tell you the truth, I grumbled about
this theme a bit. It’s been a long time
since I did any scrapbooking, and my current customers have been more
interested in cards lately.
However, I’ve always loved celebrating everyday moments,
special events and the beauty of the world around me through photographs. My very first Stampin’ Up! purchase was a
stamp to use in a scrapbook album. And I
really did enjoy the process of choosing photos and creating a layout for this
blog hop. So, thank you Bonnie for
suggesting the scrapbooking theme this month!

I’ve been loving playing with the Autumn Leaves bundle and the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and decided to use them for my project. A couple of weekend visits to local parks left me with plenty of autumn photographs to choose from as well.
The basic elements for each of these projects was a base of Gray Granite, a background layer of Lost Lagoon with stenciling using the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, and a layered border strip of Pretty Peacock, Real Red and a Gray Granite piece textured with a die from the Autumn Leaves Dies collection. Placed over this layered strip were 2 die cut leaves, one in Pretty Peacock and the other in Real Red embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. To save paper, I die cut my leaves from the photo mats. I left some open space for journaling, which I still have to complete.

When I first decided on a name for my business, I chose 3 words to help guide me as I worked my business – Remember, Celebrate, Connect. And these words are all embraced in a memory album. I’m sure I’ll be creating more!
