Artistically Inked Gratitude

Welcome to the Creative Card-iology Team May Blog Hop - we are so glad you've joined us!  We're celebrating new Annual Catalog products in our blog hop this month.  After you are finished here at my blog, I hope you'll check out my teammate's blogs and be inspired by their projects as well.  You can hop along with us by clicking on the links to their blogs toward the bottom of this post.  We always appreciate your thoughts, so please let us know you've stopped by and leave a comment.

I've chosen to feature the stamp set (Artistically Inked) and Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Expressions in Ink suite and some coordinating products.  The Expressions in Ink products are so beautiful, and the sentiments in the Artistically Inked stamp set allow for cards or projects for many different occasions.  I love the fonts used for the sentiments in this set!  And the DSP is so gorgeous that you can create stunning projects without a lot of time or effort invested.

My pastor is retiring at the end of the month and our church is collecting thank you cards as an expression of our gratitude for his 12 years of shepherding our congregation.  I want to give his wife a thank you card as well, as she was one of the first people to greet me when I first started attending and had led one of the Bible study groups I participated in.  I already had a card design in mind using the Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum, so I decided to make a feminine and masculine version of the same design for my thank you cards.

The "thanks" sentiment in the Artistically Inked stamp set was the perfect choice for my card design.  I started with the gorgeous Polished Pink and gold patterned DSP and adhered the DSP layer to a mat of Basic White, and then layered these onto a card base of Polished Pink.

I first stamped a floral image in Polished Pink ink on a piece of Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum from the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum collection.  I chose a label die from the Tasteful Labels Dies collection and die cut a label with my stamped floral image to the left side of the label.

Once the ink was dry (I let it dry overnight), I stamped the "thanks" sentiment on the label in Versamark ink and poured gold embossing powder over it.  I then gently heated the powdered sentiment with the Heat Tool to finish the embossing process.  I then adhered my stamped and embossed sentiment label to my card front with Mini Glue Dots.

I finished my card by adding a few Pale Papaya jewels from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels embellishment collection.

For the masculine version of this card I used the beautiful watercolor DSP pattern in varying shade of green, along with a Soft Succulent card base and a mat of Evening Evergreen.  I used the Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum for my label and only stamped the "thanks" sentiment and embossed with gold.  Evening Evergreen jewel embellishments finished off this card.

I don't know about you, but I sometimes take the people in my life for granted.  Expressing that gratitude regularly either verbally or in writing with a card or note is something I'm trying to do more often.  Not only does this practice let the people in my life know that they are valued, but it also benefits me as I conciously focus on others and develop a more grateful heart.
